The Planet Gymnastics Parent Association (PGPA) is an organization that exists to foster and cultivate the sport of competitive gymnastics among Planet Team Members in accordance with USA Gymnastics guidelines and under the direction of the owners and coaches. The PGPA’s primary focus is on enhancing the overall experiences of being a competitive gymnast including coach, parent, and gymnast support; open lines of communication between all members; and team member preparation for competitions. In addition, the PGPA conducts activities to aid in team building and fundraising for all team members in order to nurture healthy camaraderie among the gymnasts and to offset gymnastics expenses.
Membership in the PGPA is an obligation required of all Planet Team parents. The PGPA functions through Team parent volunteers on various committees to provide the needed support for the Planet Gymnastics Team.
The PGPA is composed of a Board of Directors consisting of owners, coaches, and officers. In addition to the Board of Directors, there are the following committees:
- Fundraising –coordinate & assist with raising money for team expenses (coordinate & communicate with team moms for individual level fundraisers)
- Level Representatives – Team Moms/Dads (team roster, level activities, meet information distribution, team parties)
- Meet Coordination – home meet preparation (i.e. decorations, food, ad book, work schedule)
